Yesterday we finally had a warm sunny day. We went to Mount Vernon. I loved it. I think of all the "DC stuff" we've done so far this has been my favorite.
The grounds are just beautiful and the house is lovely. I liked watching the movie and hearing about his life best. It was so interesting.
There were many things we didn't have time to see and do in our one day trip. I will definitely go back some time to see more.
I am very grateful for the courage and character our founding fathers had. Their willingness to die for freedom, for our land, for their families and way of life has been a tremendous gift to those who have followed.

I've never been there--looks like a great place to one day visit.
I feel our founding fathers were such great men--I cannot imagine what it took for them to do what they did.
