We've been kind of busy around here but finally we found time to have some friends over to celebrate little B's birthday. I decided to surprise the boys with a pirate adventure and it was wonderful!

We drove to Annapolis and went on Chesapeake Pirates adventure boat. First the kids got to dress up and get tattooed. Then they began their hunt for
treasure.

Along the way we ran into bad pirates and had to shoot water cannons at them. We had to
search for a hidden treasure map and follow it, and finally after finding the "X" that marks the spot we hauled up the treasure!

After finding treasure we discovered there was also floating grog and so pulled that up and had a party! Complete with dancing and music and good cheer.
It was excellent.
When we got off the boat we followed some more clues to a pirate ice cream shop where they had such flavors as "Scurvy Sherbet", "LemonShark" and "Mermaid Mint"

A very great way to celebrate the day :)

Wow, that sounds like a birthday party heaven.
What a cool thing to do--that would be so much fun.
