Next door to the temple is the pioneer cemetery. We walked through it and looked for the names and resting spots of those heroic pioneers.
The visitors center was neat and we had a fun tour and learned many things.
The kids enjoyed the hands on activities.
Here we are "sleeping" on what would have been our family's berth for the voyage across the ocean. What tremendous sacrifices our pioneer forefathers made to bring the gospel back to the earth in it's fullness. I am so grateful to them and I am grateful for this chance to trace their steps and learn about them with my children, to have gospel conversations, to share what is most important to me in a real and tangible way.

What a great road stop-- and the Temple is beautiful
I'm glad you're having such a wonderful trip. It's so much fun to see all of those places. You all look great. Love you guys! Miss you!
Isn't it an amazing place to visit. I learned so much and was so grateful for all that I have. (Also, know I would have been a MURMURING pioneer ; )
I'm glad your drive is going well. I'm so glad your family was able to experience and enjoy Winter Quarters.
This is one of my favorite places in the world. William and I were married in front of the statue in the cemetery. Shortly after that, the temple was announced. We were able to be sealed there. The observation window at the trail center is one of my favorite places to sit and think. We just visited there Wednesday. Very humbling place.
