late arrival

a flurry of snow fell in the night, which lead to the welcome 5:45 am call announcing a late arrival day for school. Yeah! With two extra hours this morning we slept in a bit, made banana-blueberry pancakes and sorted some socks :)
Lu's creation!

After school I picked up the kids and we ran to Michaels, our February Family Project is due tomorrow and we hadn't started it.
Then we came home, ate dinner, did the project and began homework and valentine writing.

It was messy but fun.
I like my job and really don't mind working, what I mind is the time away from home and the catch up we can't quite get to each day. Glitter, legos, laundry and books litter the floor. Cooking and laundry and shopping and scrubbing still needs to get done. Play dates and story time and homework and talking still need to happen.
That's the hard part.

Lana,

I feel your pain. I only work one day a week, Wednesdays, but Thursday is always semi-bananas as I'm catching up from being gone all day Wednesday. I have a lovely sitter but she is homeschooled too and spends spare time (what little there is with 7 kids in the house) doing her own work. I don't expect her to clean and she usually doesn't. So...I come home to a fairly serious mess. It really is amazing how quickly things can deteriorate, isn't it?
I'm glad you like your job, though.

I know how you feel... it has always been very hard for me to work... there seems to never be enough time in the day... and my house is never perfect or clean! We ALWAYS have loads of laundry that need to be done. Liking your job makes it easier... but now you have ANOTHER job on top of all the ones you already had.

I really don't know how you do it all--yes I do--YOU ARE ORGANIZED.

I'm so impressed with everything you manage to get done.
