real life friends

There are many things I love about blogging.
1.I love having a record of our daily ins and outs. I have a bad memory and it's fun for me to look back and see details that I forgot from just last year:) The kids all enjoy it as well and I often find them reading my blog and archives.
2. I like doing it for my family. Grandparents, great grandparents, uncles and cousins and kids far away and sisters, whoever can read and keep up. We live so far from everyone and it gives them a glimpse of our lives, and they can look at their leisure, or not.
3.I love reading friends blogs. It's just fun.
4. I love reading blogs about peoples whose lives are very different than mine. I would never know what an expat life was like, or a missionary family in Wamena life, or a foodie from NY, or a Rancher from Oklahoma, or a Jewish woman in Tel Aviv, or a cupcake maker, or many others that I can read about now and comment on and receive comments from. It's a whole new world.
5. Most unexpectedly I have loved getting to know people well enough to consider them my friends. There are some blogs that I read often and they read mine and we comment and we become cyber-sisters :) Yvonne is one of those people. I love her, she is so positive and fun and loves her family and husband. When I read her blog I think my life will be like that someday~ full of grandkids and grown children and service to others. She and Allan are down from Canada for a wedding and yesterday drove to the temple to meet me. We had such a fun, but too short, visit. She was just as delightful in person and it was a wonderful to meet in real life.

One of my favorite things about blogging is being able to capture the going ons of my life, event just the big ones. It's a way of journaling for me and someday I'm actually going to get it printed out.

It was so wonderful to FINALLY meet you. It felt so natural--like we were getting together again. I loved it--and so did Allan.

Thank you for taking the time.
