all these years...

I thought we were unique in our early morning gathering for seminary. Each morning, during High School, the youth of our church gather for seminary. They groggily stumble in cheerfully meet and for an hour sleep with their eyes open and sitting in chairs study the scriptures.
I did it. Four years! Whoo HOo!
Dani did it 3 1/2 years ~ still really great :)
S is on her fourth year.
J on her second.

This semester, however, J is going to do independent study because she joined the swim team. The swim team meets at the school at 6:15 and takes a bus to the pool where they practice and come back by 2nd period. She is very excited.

This morning was my first to drop her off and I was surprised when we pulled into the school that there was not one group of kids waiting but many groups. There was the cross country team, the swim team, football players, dancers...I don't know who else. Apparently the 6 o'clock hour is a much more popular one than I knew. And everyone was awake and cheerful. Hhhmm?

Awake and cheerful doesn't sound like my Seminary class--I am glad they are somewhat awake!!!

I loved your comical use of the STRIKE OUT. Again, the Master helps the student. . .Now I must copy your technique! Good job girls, with seminary. . . and good luck with independent study (and swim team) What are her strokes?

I think the difference is that all of those people are going to things that keep you wide awake. Love reading scriptures but not a real livening activity.

EArly morning seminary isn't easy-congrats to your kids-it will serve them well. :) (I however am dreading the day when my first starts because it will be nonstop for something like 14 years for us and I am not a morning person)

I think parents deserve seminary graduation awards just as much as the kids. Way to go!
