Works for Me ~ guest blogger

Today's works for me is brought to you by my littlest: guest blogger, Lucy. Things around here are sometimes a little on the busy side. Lou asks for drinks or stories read or string cheese, which ever necessity of life her little 19month old self thinks of. Usually everyone will drop what they are doing and get her what she wants (which is probably why she has the vocabulary that she does ...she knows one sign "more" and no words, but who's counting?). But sometimes she has to wait, or help herself, which she is happy to do. She opens the fridge and pantry and takes a look around. When she wants a drink she goes to the bathtub, turns on the cold water (the only faucet she can reach, luckily) and fills up. Sometimes she stays to play awhile.
We keep the kid cups in a *kitchen drawer instead of up in the cupboard so she can reach them so this works great.

*She also takes them out for tower building or general throwing fun so I can't really use that as a works for me, unless more work is the goal:)

That picture is adorable! It's so cute how independent they get...even when it does cause more work.

Great idea to keep some things low so that they can reach.

Hey, we put the cups in a drawer too! In fact, the neighbor kids (3 years old) will come over to my house to get a drink of water because they think its fun to do it themselves. They are able to fill up using the refrigerators' water dispenser. I never thought of the bathtub... so funny!

I am soooo into having kids help themselves to things as they're able to. Good for little Lou, and what a cutie.

Oh, that's too cute that she gets a drink from the bathtub! :) My son is 20 months old and he's trying to become quite independent himself! :)

I’ve posted a WFMW tip as well, involving instructions on creating blogger categories. Please stop by and take a peek. :)

How precious!!! :) We moved our dishes low too so the little ones can help. Oh my though, my just turned 2 yr old would have a blast if he were allowed in the bathroom alone. I have to work on that. Both of our boys LOVE playing in water and would literally have the room flooded. I used to have a water table in the kitchen and had to move it outside after I ran out of towels one too many times to keep up. :)
